What do you enjoy most about being a Youth Activities Counselor?
"I love experiencing Disney through the children’s eyes. Watching them meet their favourite characters for the first time, riding the Aqua duck for the first time. The excitement they bring when telling us about their experiences is incredible."
Which activity do you most enjoy doing with the children, and why?
"The Disney Junior Dance Party is my favourite , the children & the counsellors love getting involved. We also offer this activity during open house as well & even the grown ups love dancing too. When I’m a VIBE counsellor I love playing Gotcha! with the teens as they are all so competitive, it’s so fun to see them enjoying the activities and games we play."
What has been your favourite destination to visit, and what made it special?
"any of the Norway ports we visited during Europe season. Norway is beautiful and sailing through the Fjords was amazing. I also love working on the Disney islands. Lookout Cay is my favourite Disney island because it mixes the Bahamian Culture with Disney perfectly."
How do you like to spend your free time when you’re not working?
"I love spending time in the hot tub with my kindle or sunbathing on deck 11."
Can you share a memorable moment or experience from your time as a Youth Activities Counselor?
"A memorable moment for me, was my first pirate night at sea when I finished work early. I went up to the deck party with some friends watched the pirate show & the fireworks. Watching the fireworks at Sea is still one of my favourite things to experience on board."

What do you enjoy most about being a Youth Activities Counselor?
"seeing the youngest cruisers have their Disney dreams come true by meeting all the characters and enjoying all the amazing spaces."
Which activity do you most enjoy doing with the children, and why?
"I most enjoy hosting character dance parties, as they get so many kids involved, and when a character comes to join in, they bring an energetic, exciting atmosphere for not only the smallest cruisers but the counselors too, making everyone in the Oceaneers beam!"
What has been your favourite destination to visit, and what made it special?
"I have been to so many destinations with Disney Cruise Line it’s impossible to pick a favourite I’ve been lucky enough to visit the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, Alaska and Canada to just name a few, these are places I’ve had the opportunity to visit just from working with Disney Cruise Line and I’m so grateful for this!"
How do you like to spend your free time when you`re not working?
"When I am not at work I spend my free time either with friends getting off the ship to enjoy the beautiful ports or heading up to deck 9 either look at the beautiful views or to catch some sunshine 🌞"
Can you share a memorable moment or experience from your time as a Youth Activities Counselor?
"The most memorable moment for me was that first day on board when as a new hire group we watched the Sail-A-Wave party on the open deck. This for me was such a special moment as I really felt that Disney Magic in full effect and it made me so excited to start making the same magic for guests in and outside of the Oceaneers club and lab."

What do you enjoy most about being a Youth Activities Counselor?
"I absolutely love seeing the kids faces when they are enjoying one of the shows or games. But even more so when they are surprised with a character appearance."
Which activity do you most enjoy doing with the children, and why?
"I love the Disney Junior Dance party. The kids faces light up when Mickey & Minnie join them for the end of the show or Making Crafts in fairytale hall."
What has been your favourite destination to visit, and what made it special?
"I’m on the Disney Wish, so we visit Port Canaveral, Nassau, Bahamas, Castaway Cay & Lookout Cay. I absolutely LOVE working on the islands."
How do you like to spend your free time when you’re not working?
"I`m a huge Disney fan myself, so I love to spend my free time soaking up some magic, watching shows, fireworks at sea, watching Disney movies or sunbathing and relaxing"
Can you share a memorable moment or experience from your time as a Youth Activities Counselor?
I have just started within the role but I would say the most memorable moment so far is when we had a little girl who was blind in the space, us counsellors built up a great bond with her. For me seeing her explore the space by touch & sounds in a completely different way was magical! Watching her have the best time will be something that stays with me forever.
